Measure of America & Humantific
We have been working with Measure of America since the publication of their first ground-breaking report more than ten years ago. This is visual sensemaking at the scale, not of organizations, but of society. We love the connection between sensemaking and changemaking as exemplified in this body of work.
With deep understanding that there is much more to sensemaking visualization than just the data sets we love working with data analysis experts.
In this talk, Measure of America's Laura Laderman discusses the potential for data analysis and design to be deployed for the public good. She shares some surprising findings from Measure of America’s most recent report, A Portrait of New York City 2018: Well-Being in the Five Boroughs and the Greater Metro Area and breaks down the process of creating tools that provide the general public, policymakers and service organizations with information that is easy to understand and actionable.
Referencing how the work gets done behind the scenes you can see a glimpse of the team hard at work in the Humantific office.
