Welcome back Humantific Journal readers. Among the questions that readers send to us is this one; "Where is the Humantific book on the subject of Ambidexterity?" The cover mock-up has been posted on our website for an extended period as one reader reminded us recently...:-)
Yes, client projects, important R&D work and writing the Making Sense of Design for Complexity book has often kept us busy elsewhere but as summer winds down here we are getting back to a rethink of the Ambidex book. Happy to point out that interest in actionizing Amibidex in organizational contexts continues to rise, rather than fall, in the face of the Ai tsunami.
We tend to write non-linear books in sync with readership appetites so this Ambidex addition to the Humantific library will also be untraditional. It is being organized around 10 Shifts that constitute how we do what we do regarding the Ambidex Advantage as part of organization changemaking leadership. We find that to be so useful to leaders in the face of rising complexity of challenges facing many organizations and industries.
Many org leaders are finding out that doing one thing at a time in the face of VUCA and various complex market dynamics is no longer enough. When having one engine in the vehicle with a singular srategy is no longer competitive, ambidex makes for an excellent, explainable, accessable, powerful, inclusive alternative.
As we have been doing with the Design for Complexity book we will be sharing parts of the Ambidex book in progress, in this case, here on the Humantific blog.
Sharing how we think about building adaptive capacity does have a particular texture, tone, and architecture that is very different from where we see many others focused presently.
We have observed that many others are techniques oriented and complexity guessing game oriented which we tend to not be...:-) More when the book unfolds.
