Humantific in Mexico: 6th Annual Design Forum

Humantific CoFounder GK VanPatter will be keynote speaker on Day 1 of Centro Universitario de la Costa’s 6th Design Forum in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on June 13-15.


The Forum objectives include "Understanding the relationship between the design processes that are taught in the classroom and the design processes that are applied in the professional field.”


GK will be presenting excerpts for our upcoming book in progress Rethinking Design Thinking: Making Sense of the Future that Has Already Arrived.


How are the challenges facing design changing and what are our responsibilities in the age of urgency and complexity rising? It's a bit of a mindbender story that could use some sensemaking. :-) Coming soon!




Purpose of the Forum

"The purpose of the forum is to analyze and discuss the relevance of establishing links and working strategies between the field of design education and the professional field, generating programs that favor the training of new design professionals in the 21st century, reflecting on competencies, skills and capabilities that are demanded by the workspaces in the professional field."


"Changes and adaptations to new work environments, both in the way they work and in the processes and methods used in companies, industry and commerce, demand serious and deep reflections on the competencies and skills that a graduate of the Design disciplines must develop and master."


"Strengthening the link between the field of design professionals and the fields of design education is necessary to propose common reflection spaces, continuing the changes in search of continuous improvement is that, the three organizations have decided that this year The Forum is not only academic, but also exploring other areas such as public design policies, the professional sector and the positioning of Design at the national level.”
