The general marketplace vibe around the term is that complexity is negative and often in the consulting industries the focus is on intervention in outbound complexity, external complexity. For a new generation of changemaking practitioners that view seems truncated.


In the Humantific version of emerging practice we already think about inbound and outbound complexity, positive and negative complexity, slow moving complexity and rapid change complexity. With so much focus on complexity as an outbound negative we might reflect on good complexity. In the context of organizations and communities/societies when is complexity positive?
