Historical SenseMaking Research

One of the research projects underway in Humantific | UnderstandingLab is finding, studying and documenting early examples of Visual Social SenseMaking. At this moment we are particularly interested in 18th and 19th century examples from North America and Europe. Shown here are some amazing examples from the Rand McNally World Atlas designed and published in the United States in 1890. If anyone out there has or knows of other early Visual SenseMaking examples please feel free to let us know. Contact: research (at) humantific (dot) com.
